Scores were available to borrow and the event consisted of a run through of the work, followed by a short break and then a concert performance.

Non singers were welcome to come and listen to the concert free of charge after the rehearsal had finished

The Mass in D major was composed in 1887 at the suggestion of Dvořák's patron Josef Hlávka for the inauguration of the Lužany castle chapel. It is written for choir and organ with occasional passages for soloists.

UK premiere of On Christmas Night was given on 28 November 2011 in Rugby School by the Arnold Singers conducted by Richard Dunster-Sigtermans
